In 2026, Southern California voted during SoCal Pizza Week, and we won the Golden Slice for Best Specialty Pizza. The full story, including how the vote works and who runs it, is on our award page. This post is for the step after that, when you’re standing at the counter looking at a menu with more pizzas on it than you expected.
First, thank you to everyone who voted. Now, where to start.
If you only order one pizza, make it The Bonfire. It’s a 16-inch New York round with pepperoni, creamy burrata, fresh basil and a drizzle of hot honey. When Google sums up what people say in our reviews, it singles out two things, and The Bonfire is one of them. Add Calabrian chilies for $3 if you want it to bite back.
The other thing Google’s summary calls out is our Detroit style, which brings you to the real decision.
Our New York rounds are 16 inches across. The dough is naturally leavened sourdough that ferments for up to 72 hours. We portion and stretch every dough ball by hand, then bake it in a brick oven until the crust picks up some char.
The Detroit-inspired squares are 10 by 14 inches and thick, with the cheese baked into a crisp, caramelized edge. Start with Motor City Pepperoni, which is triple pepperoni, mozzarella and pecorino, finished with basil and hot honey.
Can’t decide? If you’re not eating alone, get one of each. Build Your Own works in either shape.
Hot honey is on five of our pizzas, so “spicy” here usually means sweet and hot at once. The Bonfire and Motor City Pepperoni both have it. So does The High Tide, the simplest of the bunch, a Detroit square with burrata, basil, hot honey and olive oil.
For real heat, look at two pies. The Amalfi Inferno has spicy Italian sausage, fire-roasted peppers and Calabrian chilies. The Sweet Attack! stacks pepperoni and Italian sausage with banana peppers, fresh jalapeños and hot honey.
No heat at all? The Coastline Classic is our cheese pizza, house red sauce and fresh mozzarella finished with pecorino and olive oil. The Margarito is new and close to it, with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil. It’s named after one of our pizzaiolos.
Order the Garlic Parmesan Knots while you decide. They’re our sourdough tied into knots, brushed with garlic butter and topped with parmesan.
We fry everything in beef tallow, which is why our tallow fries taste the way fries used to. The wings come out of the same fryer, a full pound of them, tossed in your choice of sauce.
Our taps rotate, so ask what’s on today. When we printed the current menu, the board included Docent Brewing from San Juan Capistrano and Brewery X from Anaheim. Pours come as a pint, a schooner or a pitcher. We also pour wine by the glass and the bottle.
Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 3 to 6, with a late happy hour from 8 to 9 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. On weekdays from 11:30 to 4 there’s a sandwich menu alongside the pizza.
